Hope you and yours are well and keeping busy. In the meantime, I feel as though during the past two years I have become something of a hermit, as I have been writing and researching not only my latest Spiritual / Science book, Countdown to Coherence – but I have also spent seven solid months completely updating, revising and expanding my best selling health book 500 Of the Most Important Health Tips You’ll Ever Need. It’s been hard work – but the upside is that I have learned a LOT on this journey which should help an awful lot of people.
And so my latest news is that my spiritual/ science book Countdown to Coherence is being launched in the UK and Europe on Sept 20th and in America in April 2011. You can find full details in the Books section of this web site by clicking here.
Meanwhile, the UK Government and health authorities are finally realising the crucial importance that Vitamin D contributes to our health. Thanks to ‘experts’ bashing on for years about how we need to stay out of the sun (which helps your body naturally produce vitamin D) almost 70% of people in the West are low in the vitamin. There is now a large body of evidence to show that a lack of Vitamin D, which is synthesised on your skin when it is exposed to sunlight – plays a part in strokes, high blood pressure, diabetes, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, depression, muscle wasting and numerous cancers including colon and breast cancers. For anti ageing I take 1000- 2000 iu of Vitamin D3 daily. Thousands of lives could be saved annually, if we all did the same.
The actress Gwyneth Paltrow has been diagnosed with thinning bones (as she avoids the sun) but the body needs sufficient vitamin D in order to absorb calcium. I have dealt with the growing problem of brittle bones in great detail in my new health book which is being launched in Jan 2011. Details will be posted in October.
Meanwhile, with Autumn approaching, as much as you can expose your skin to 15 minutes sunshine a day, but avoid the midday sun. As in all things, find a balance.
Well, that’s it from me. Wherever you are be healthy and I’ll leave you with my THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
'HOLDING ONTO ANGER IS LIKE GRASPING A HOT CLOAL WITH THE INTENT OF THROWING IT AT SOMEONE ELSE: YOU ARE THE ONE GETTING BURNED ‘ Buddha. C. 566 – 480 BCE
Next time you get angry, keep in mind that anger contributes to a raised cholesterol level, increases blood pressure, stresses your heart, increases stroke risk - and has a negative effect on your liver!
TAKE A DEEP BREATH MORE OFTEN, LEARN TO LET THINGS GO AND THAT WAY YOU WON’T GET SO ‘BURNED’ ! And if you feel passionately about a ‘wrong’ – then do your best to put it right. By channelling anger positively the world and your health will improve !
Take care,
